Budtender Requirements Washington State Proposes Rules

Subject: MMJ Consultant Certification Rules - Public Notification and Hearing

The Department of Health filed a CR-102 with the Office of the Code Reviser on December 21, 2015, to notify the public of proposed new rules in chapter 246-72 WAC: Medical Marijuana Consultant Certification. Authority for the proposed rules is RCW 69.51A.290. These rules will establish the requirements for the Medical Marijuana Certified Consultant. The department has scheduled a rules hearing to be held:
January 26, 2016
Capital Event Center at the Educational Service District 113

Tumwater, WA 98512
2 p.m.

The purpose of the proposed rules meetings will be to:

• Describe the proposed rules established in chapter 246-72 WAC;

• Explain the state’s rulemaking process and timeline;

• Invite stakeholders, members of the general public, and other interested parties to participate in the rulemaking process and to provide comment.

If you live in Washington please try to make it to the hearing regarding new rules for medical marijuana budtenders!

They need feedback from the cannabis community regarding what types of classes, curriculum, evaluations, etc. will be required for aspiring bud tenders to take before being allowed to work with cannabis patients.
